The Elta Biflow SB Bifurcated Axial Fan is a heavy-duty, high-temperature extraction fan specifically engineered for demanding ventilation systems where hot or contaminated air needs to be moved safely and efficiently. Its key advantage is the bifurcated design, which positions the motor outside the main airflow, protecting it from elevated temperatures and contaminants passing through the fan.

Available in 5 standard sizes from 250mm to 630mm, the Biflow SB range delivers airflow rates of up to 4.501m³/s and static pressures of up to 608 Pa. With configurations suitable for continuous operating temperatures of up to +200°C, it is particularly well suited to challenging commercial and industrial extraction applications.

High-Temperature Bifurcated Design

Unlike a conventional axial fan where the motor sits directly within the airflow, the Biflow SB houses its motor inside a separate tunnel running through the fan casing.

This isolates the motor from the hot and contaminated extracted air, allowing the fan to handle temperatures of up to 200°C while also helping protect the motor and extend its operational life.

This makes the SB particularly attractive for demanding extraction installations where temperature, airborne contaminants or both would make a conventional axial fan unsuitable.

High-Efficiency Axial Performance

The Biflow SB uses adjustable-pitch aerofoil impellers fitted with high-quality pressure die-cast aluminium blades. Each impeller is factory set to provide optimum performance and statically balanced to ISO 14694 for smooth and dependable operation.

With airflow capability reaching 4.501m³/s and static pressure performance of up to 608 Pa, the range provides substantial extraction capacity while retaining the relatively direct airflow characteristics of an axial fan.

Heavy-Duty Construction

The fan features a robust all-metal heavy-gauge mild steel casing, which is roll formed and welded before being hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 after fabrication.

This provides excellent corrosion resistance and makes the Biflow SB suitable for demanding long-term commercial and industrial installations. The fan is also suitable for external mounting as standard, providing greater flexibility when designing the extraction system.

Heavy-Duty AC Motor

The SB range uses totally enclosed AC motors with IP55 protection, sealed-for-life bearings and Class H insulation.

Locating the motor outside the primary airflow helps protect it from both excessive heat and contaminants, contributing to improved reliability and service life in hostile extraction environments.
